I see the seal or O ring on my Power Director has started to leak on my D17D. Is this a split the tractor to fix or can it be done with just pulling the side cover? Probably should do the PTO lever seal too.

Brian - thought I saw an earlier post (Dr. Allis?) say you can pull the snap ring off the PD lever shaft on the left side and push it to the right to remove & change the o-ring on the lever side then do the opposite to change o-ring on the left side.  I'm pretty sure the PTO lever is pinned to a fork on the inside and nearly impossible to do without splitting.  Mike

PD can be done without splitting.  PTO can't.
