I got a buddy who says he has an old Allis Chalmers Silage blower that has an engine on it. Engine don't run, but blower has been stored inside for quite some time. I have never heard or seen a blower with an engine. My question is what is one of these worth?

A couple hundred bucks tops. I gave a hundred for my Papec without an engine. Is the engine a B125? What shape is the conveyor belt in?

I have never seen one of these, obviously know of the belt driven ones, but never one with a power unit. He is looking to sell, what might this be worth. It come with the ball hitch system and ball.

Years ago when my Dad was still farming he bought a new blower with the belt conveyer and took the motor off the AC 60 combine we had, replaced it with a PTO shaft, and put the combine motor on the blower. We chopped our hay, straw, and corn silage. It was hard to believe how much material that little motor would put up the pipe.
You never had to worry about hay or straw starting a fire in the mow because when either hay or straw was a little tough you had to hand feed it or it would plug.
Later on I bought one set up the same way. Mine would start good when the motor was cold, but when it was warmed up, I would let it sit and idle between loads because it could make a preacher swear most of the time. We also used it to blow oats in the grainery. Didn't take long to unload a truck load. Of course 150 to 200 Bu. was a big load then.
They were also made with a drag chain in the conveyer instead of the belt.
Makes a guy feel old when people start talking about things that were new when you were farming and now people asking question about how that old stuff used to work.

looks like it's got an engine IN it too ;)
I think the engine is a B/C tractor engine. IMHO The blower wouldn't have the capacity for modern farming, but it would blow a pile if fed by hand or from a period-correct wagon box. If the engine turns over, it's worth the parts price once the unit is bought. karl f karl f

've got the engine and blower, just need to find the brackets to put them together.
