bought planter at a sale, I know a kinze dealer that is able to check meters. my question is do I take the planter boxes and all with me for the test, or do I remove the meters completely from the boxes, or take apart the meter in some way? thanks

Just take the meters off the box. Do not disassemble the meters. You may want to take some seed corn that is the size you plan on planting that will help get the seed units calibrated. Andy

yep just the meters, we take our kinze meters to the local JD dealer to get them checked over and calibrated ever year.

No need to take seed with you. They should have a variety of seed available & a form like the one below for you to fill out about your planting system: planter model ~ Kinze 3200, JD 7000, or JD 7200
planted population ~ 32,000 plants per acre
planter row spacing ~ 30"
planter speed MPH ~ 4.5-5.0
seed sizes planted ~ medium rounds, medium flats, plateless, Large Flats, etc..
The precision finger trays, seed stops, surefire belts, adjustable brushes, slick plastic plate inserts & new seed tubes are all good items for the finger meters. Keeton firmers & properly adjusted furrow disc blades help tremendously.
