For me I browse my pictures and when I choose one I click on edit and then click on skew/stretch and reduce to 30% and it loads just fine. Don't know if all computers work that way or not.

The only way I know is to open an account with photobucket (its free).Download pics on there and click on edit and re-size to preset size 640X480 I believe. Click on Img code (Blue strip below image)and it should copy image.Go back to this site and paste Img Code by right click.Took me awhile to figure it out,If I can do it anyone can.

Instead of using message at end of page, use Post Reply above and to the left or go to maeeage top bar and click on icon that has two boxes with an arrow going thru them diagnolly - I will say 'Full Reply Editor'.  Tap on that icon and it will bring you to a bigger message board.
Now look at top row and find a box with a tree in it, run mouse over it and it will say 'insert image. click on it. It will bring you to a new screen and there is a box that says "browse" .  Click on Browse and bring up a new screen that shows your computor...now go to the picture you want and click on it.
Theres a message there that says -  "Images must be of the type, jpg, jpeg, gif, and have a maximum file size of 1024KB"  -- If your camera was set for moderate size pic, should be close to this size.  The pic I used was 332KB and was 1280X960X24bjpg which I resized ...
Then hit upload. Another box will appear and said wait a moment, just click itand it will start upload. picture gets put in box on right side and above the pic is couple blanks that say width height ...Put in 640 and 480 if you want your bic to be resized and seen as a whole picture on the message or leave it alone and send a pic that you have to scroll.
Now below the pic there is an upload or ok and it that and here is your pic.
Sometimes I like big pics when I save them because they have more detail in them.
 Hope this helps

I have windows XP.  When I open a picture by dbl clicking on it, it comes up in microsoft office picture manager.  In the center of the page at the top is a tab, Edit picture.  Click on that and it brings up a menu on the right.  Click on Predefined width x heights.  click the down arrow and select web large or small whichever you prefer.  Then click on FILE and click SAVE.  Now it will post and fit on one page.

I use Photoshop. No matter how you choose to resize your pics, save the resized ones under an altered file name so as not to lose the originals.

I appreciate your efforts to keep the pics within size I HATE pics like the one earlier in this post that are too large and require me to scroll to the bottom and then scroll over the post itself in order to read the text.

You can resize your pictures at-  www.photosize.com or www.picresize.com they are free. Sometime if the picture is really large photosize can't handle it but picsize can.

Steve , If your referring to the pic above, That is somehow my fault but had I not changed it, it would have been twice as large... I should have looked better at the post before I clicked out.  I don't like scrolling across to see pictures either but when I save a pic that I really like, then I want them as big as they come so that there is detail  in them.

And you are right about saving your resized under another name or add a letter or number to the end just to change it enough to save without getting rid of origional size.

JC, it's not so much the pics (not just yours) are too wide, it's the text. When you have to scroll down, putting the sentence out of view, scroll over and then scroll up to read the balance and then do it again to start the next line I sometimes give up.
Am I doing something wrong? Or, maybe I should highlight the text, ctrl c, and then paste into notebook or Word to be able to read the text in a different window?
