Does anyone have pictures and/or a description of a front mounted hydraulic pump on a CA? Or does anyone have a side mounted pump setup on a CA?

I have a picture of the aftermarket pump that mount below dist on CA's if you would like to see it. I think [know] they are hard to come by. Sorry, This pump set-up was used for ??, I do not remember what it powered on the tractor. Paul B would know. I have not seen him on Forum for quite some time now.

I recall that the hydraulic pump from one or more Farmall models will bolt on behind the distributor of the CA. My memory recalls needing to swap ot the Allis distributor for the Farmall distributor to get the drive for the pump. Been a long time ago so maybe someone with a better memory of the details can clarify.
I use a 12 volt hydraulic pump (available in single or double acting) as it installs with a minimum of plumbing, hardware and hassles on my CA and D14

Jim, I have some pics of the front mounted pump I installed on my B. Depending on how much machining you can do, or get done, a similiar set-up could be done for the CA (in fact I probably will do one for my CA,,,, eventually!)
The threaded projections coming through the grill shroud on the CA would provide an ideal mounting for a pump mounting plate.
I have modified the crankshaft pulley to accept a lovejoy coupling half that provides an excellent drive for the pump.

Wow! that looks pretty nifty! I noticed the angle iron mounting bracket that bolts to the threaded bosses I was talking about mounting the pump to.
I just might consider that set up for a pump I have that turns the wrong way for a "front" mount.

This won't work on my B cause I wouldn't have a way to stick the crank in. LOL |

Chris, the pump runs my loader (see pic) and three point hitch conversion I also use a quick fit connection from the pump to my loader joystick that allows me to power my splitter or my winch (whichever is on the 3pt at the time)
![]() I know just "quick fitting" an accessory in series isn't advisable but it works for me.
The 3pt valve is plumbed to the joystick's power beyond port so it's "by the book".

P.P.S. Please excuse typos I don't see an "edit" option.
Charlie, I shoulda mentionned that the pump drive does exclude the use of a crank for starting, something I've never done and don't intend to. I've heard the stories from my Dad and Uncles about "kickback" call me a wimp (lol).

Sorry Josh, I can't find the old Princess Auto catalogue it's listed in. They no longer offer that pump and the brand name escapes me (as does a lot of stuff these days).
It's a YC series pump. When I googled "YC Hydraulic pumps" I came up with "Webster hydraulics" the "YC" pics looked exactly like my pump but there were several sizes.
That was not the brand I purchased but it seems to me that the line may have been taken over by them.
Sorry, but the pump specs should be determined by what you want to power with it and the speed of the power source i.e. pto or engine rpm.
