Nurse Practioner I see that set me on the prednisone for the Severe attack around my eyes had me come back in for a Routine followup and my Annual Physical look over for Medicare.
All was great, BP 130/75, NO MEDS, Pulse 68, temp 97.8, Blood O2 at 98%, color Good, extremity Pulse excellent, and Lungs clear as ever been, was born Asthmatic. So Blood Work and a Pee Test for Albumin and something else checking my aging kidney function. Report came back yesterday and she contacted my on My Mercy account TODAY. Only bad juju was Triglycerides over 200, Cholesterol at 157, percentage levels HDL/LDL much better on the Praluent two week Self Injections have gotten Cholesterol down from over 200. Another 'HOWEVER', my Blood work was Great, PSA at 2.7, all but two numbers awesome those being MCH and MCHC or Hemoglobin, have slipped ever so slowly to Anemic levels and red flagged. Been trailing Down for several physicals. Take a 50+ Multivitamin and D3 vitamins every day, Not Enough so went thru diet. Defined a Red Meat Eater, love Shellfish and Ocean Wild caught seafoods, Generally have Dark Green leafy veges in salads as Spinach and eat dark greens as cooked spinach or broccoli and others relatively weekly to include Baked taters peel and all. She noted NOTHING wrong Diet wise so time to ADD a Iron Supplement where did caution can Constipate. Great, just great getting old!! She did note was likely why my hands and feet tend to be constantly Cool to Cold to the touch, I noted ALWAYS been Cold Natured, to which she noted likely Always had a Iron deficiency.

Currently on Praluent Self Inject Pen every two weeks, was for Triglycerides but did a number on Total Cholesterol so still good. I only take a D3 300mg, and a 50+ Multivitamin, have a script for Celebrex/Celecoxib 250mg for an as need basis but no more than ONE every 12 hours, have developed Resistance to Pain meds of most other varieties to include ANY opiate or synthetic opiate derived, do NOTHING except lock up my colon.
So start looking, I drink a FULL POT of Coffee EVERY Day except Weekends, 12 cups, two in a House 16 oz cup and then a Travel mug that holds the rest of the pot, find out the Polyphenols in COFFEE can drive Iron DOWN, great. LOVE Dark Chocolate, LOVE Ice Cream, again BOTH Drive Iron DOWN, Calcium rich Products affect SAME WAY, another Great. I am so screwed.

I'm 65 and just did my DOT physical last week. Everything the same as it's been for the past 50 years or so. I don't eat at McRonalds, Hardee's, or really any of the fast food chains. Typically cook what I eat myself. Purchase beef and pork from local farms, and leech off the farmers I know and granddaughters for fresh vegetables in the warmer months. In-laws love to can, so even that is taken care of for the winter months.
Some of these farmers I cite really like my cakes, pies, and other baked goodies, so we routinely trade supporting each other.
