There is a nice looking 4W305 with a bad engine looking for a new home. Judging from the video of it, any guesses as to what is wrong with it? Not interested in it, just curious as it does have a distinct sound to it.

My dad’s had broken rings. I blamed it on the fact that throttle had to be wide open to start the engine. If you pulled the throttle back before it had a good fire rhythm it would die. Thing was a beast but that one thing always made me grit my teeth

OUCH!! That is not good for any engine, is that by design or was that a fault with just your dad’s machine? |

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Most ppl we talked to were the same way. The 8550 started the same way as well. Still miss those monsters though

Those 4W-305s are beasts and for being 40 years old the styling is amazing. I love those twin stacks. Ryan

Would love to buy an 8550 but the salvage yards beat me to all of them I’m interested in (probably a good reason) ha ha!!

Just reading the description is pretty vague. There are a lot of things to check on that tractor. If I was interested I’d definitely go look at it. Might be something simple, they are very heavy built and powerful machines. It looks very nice and well kept, might be a great deal for someone.

Here’s a link to it. https://www.auctiontime.com/listing/upcoming-auctions/244378389/allis-chalmers-4w305-300-hp-or-greater-tractors
Just the tires alone would be worth $10,000… |
