Norm's book notes that a cost reduced 200 tractor was introduced in 1973. What changes were made and which was the better tractor?

Not much, 1 headlight vs 2 in rear fenders, hollow front support (which you'll appreciate if you need to replace front crankcase seal), gated PD control (the best ever on an AC tractor).  So, it was called "cost reduction", but it was actually the best version of the 200.
