my neighbor went to town to buy an inner tube for his little tractor (11 somthing 28) and came back in awe. Locally was $40 so he decided to look around - don't know if that is gonna do any good or not.
Anyhow is that a you better buy it before it goes up again price or are there more reasonable prices around. We ive in central IL.

Probably not too far off. A couple years ago a 16.9-28 tube was $65.

There are tubes of different quality out there...the cheaper ones don't hold CaCl well...or maybe not air for that matter. I bought a cheapie 18.4 x 28 this summer for around $50 (ag dealer wanted $110 for his)....mine has gone flat already, barely used it, no fluid, no pulling hard.....oh well, it's a simple job to break one down and fix....NOT!

See how things work out. They got most to think $40 is a good deal and probably made in China. Just like gas at $2.50 is a good deal. Beats $4. Forgot all about 99¢ gas. Now to figure out who THEY are? Bought a couple 3/4" bearings at CaseIH this past summer. 22$ each and made in Argentina. Fleet Farm has them for $8 each and made in China. I remember going to the Allis dealer and buying them for 4 or 5 bucks and they were made in the USA. What happened? My wages haven't risen that fast and I still work in the USA.

I will not get better. The last shipment of rubber I use here making tires was up .25 per pound. What I was paying 1.80 for a year ago I am now paying 2.25.
Actually the price of rubber has not gone up but the value of the dollar has gone down.

Paid $50 last year from rear tube on the D-17. It seemed to be the going price in this area.

I manage a shop and for a 11.2-24 tube it runs $38 up to a 18.4-38 they run $61. Over the last 2-3 years weve added up all the price hikes from our venders that have been forced upon us and it come to be 225% increase. Thats the reasoning in the higher cost. Everyone out there is just trying to make the same dollar with cost of raw product going up. alone goodyear had a 10% price increase within the last month. Sorry for hijacking the post but thats my 2 cents. |

I'll find out later this month what a tube for an 18.4x38 cost. 7050 had a flat. 225% is just ridiculous. Not blaming the dealers or venders but something is wrong. I'm sure after yesterday's vote things will change............Not

Had a flat on the skid steer today, took it in to Tire CRama....they said rim was bent and wanted to sell me a 11L-15/16 tube for $31 plus $8 installation fee....took it to Les Swab and they popped it back on the rim for free. Guess where I won't stop next time???

Concerning tube quality, I have been told that now you want to buy a radial tube. I have heard that the cheaper tubes are a lot easier to pinch and don't hold up as well as the heavier radial tubes.
