My allis 200 is leaking from what I call the rockshaft on 3 point hitch, top attachment point (might be calling it the wrong name) I can't find a diagram or part number in the shop manual. How hard is it to replace, is it necessary to remove tire and wheel?

Replacing the seals alone will not solve the problem. Best to replace the bushings as well. In that case, the shaft has to come out. For that to happen, the wheel center will have to come off.
I did mine when I was restoring my 190XT, so I already had the wheel centers off. I don't think there would be enough room with the wheel centers left on. Pretty easy job after dealing with the centers. |

If both lift arms will slide off the splined shaft, remove them first by sliding the rock shaft side to side. Then, slide the rock shaft far enough to the right or left to replace the seal and bushing on one side and then slide the rock shaft the other way and do the other side. If you are on 30 inch row spacing (clear narrow) you might want to spin out the wheels but I've never had any issues with the wheel center, but I never did a 38 inch wheel center either. Very early 200's used a Oring seal and later models used a different design seal, so know what you have before ordering parts.
