200Tom1 is the closest to there I can think of, is either Greenfield or Winterset, IA. I've a friend's daughter and her (under 10 yrs.) 2 kids live there but were not home at the time. Has no idea if house hit or not. She's spending at least next few days with her mom & stepdad.

Mother-in-law lived there in a nursing home, which was damaged. SIL picked her up and took her to their house, but she was not hurt.

Was said on the 5pm news that so far in 2024 Iowa has had 82 tornadoes. The 1 that hit Minden, IA 2 1/2 weeks ago went through my county and did damage to 50+ building & home sights, it came in the S W corner and left the N E corner of Shelby County, Iowa, it was on ground almost the entire path.

Guys I am 15 miles east of Greenfield. My son, wife, and their son are working picking up debris. Do not drive up there to look around. Highway 92 is closed. Cops are patrolling everywhere. All patients in the hospital have been moved to other hospitals. The only gas station (Casey's) is closed for now. A whole lot of guys have taken skid loaders, dump trucks, tractors, etc to help. Son said as of tonight they still have 14 people missing. Electricity is very questionable at this time.
