Oils oils oils???
Just picked up an AC One Sixty with the manual. Manual states SAE 10w30 in hydraulics, steering and engine. Question is the hydraulic system, is this what everyone is using OR have you switched to a different hydraulic oil?? |

It is more economical for the FACTORY to use one oil in everything.... Today almost any tracotor will have Universal Tractor Fluid / Trans-Hydraulic Fluid - or similar name... GEt a good quality brand that meets 20 different manufacturer specs on the back...
Engine is 10w 30 if its a gas engine and 15s 40 for diesel.

Thanks Steve
The unit was owned new buy one man it has the Perkins and is like new. He has always used the recommended 10w30 but I would agree it should be 15-40. This is the first tractor I’ve owned that uses and still has the 10w30 for hydraulics. |

When I rebuilt mine, I put UTF in both the transmission/hydraulics and the power steering system. |

An optimist sees the glass as half full. The pessimist sees the glass as half empty. The engineer sees a glass with double the required capacity.

Since you are up in the COLD COUNTRY... He might have used 10w 30 to get a thinner oil for startups ??
I guess i was thinking 10w 30 as a GASOILINE oil.... but there are Diesel oils in the 10w 30 viscosity.. Edited by steve(ill) - 18 Apr 2024 at 9:32am |
