Put the chains on this afternoon. Second time in my life I've ever put them on the tractor. Usually not needed.

Boss called me at home this morning, told me to stay home! First time that's happened in the thirteen years I've worked there!

Never had a boss like that. In fact, one I had left me at a job site while HE went home. Current boss would sooner we be safe than sorry. Nothing worse than stranded away from home. Road I live wasn't great at 6:30 am. Wont be better later

There has been a lot in the news lately about the reason for fightin' the civil war - my contention is that we suthunas' love to play golf in shorts in Dec/Jan and when you Yankees ship all that cold air masses and snow south, we's get fightin' mad. :-)

We are not to receive all that much 'Pretty' but cold will be here awhile.  Lows to the single digits tonight, -1 to -5 tomorrow night and then slowly inch back towards warm.

I'm in that same area with ya. I put the chains and the blade on Saturday, just finished checking everything else 30 min ago. Plowed the banks way back Wednesday afternoon when they predicted this round.

Worked at a Dennys when I was in high school. My father gave me ride to work and it started snowing one evening. By eleven o'clock when I was supposed to get off roads were unpassable. My father called and said he couldn't get there and to stay put. We were really busy as travelers were stuck with hotels filling up fast. Next shift couldn't get there so we worked through the night .When morning shift finally arrived my dad still couldn't get there as our street we lived on still had not been plowed. I walked probably 6 or 7 miles home way under dressed for the situation. Police vehicle spotted me and got me a couple blocks away from home. My father thought I was nuts for walking home. I just wanted to get out of that place.

Pat that sounds down right miserable! I have to be able to get out or I get cabin fever. Got a big 4x4 and a tractor on stand by. And a buddy or two with snowmobiles

I was scheming to leave work a little early to run a little more fence for the cows to get out of the wind.   Boss rattled off a bunch of busy work hour before I wanted to leave.    Honestly we couldn’t have had the same conversation the day before.

.

I fired up the 1955 Massey Ferguson TO35 to drag the plow around the drive and neighbors drives (shared road crosses my property). The WD needs a bit of electrical work.

Not much of a snowplowing challenge for my IB but I got the soft stuff peeled off before it froze.  More snow on the way.

They sure missed the mark. We got about 8". Got everyone plowed out and the wind picked up. 3-5 coming tonight. Then supposedly done for a while. Tractor did good. Chains stayed on for the 2 mile treck to town and back.
