Hi, two questions about the oil pickup strainer...1) It appears to be just press fit in and seems like it could easily come out.  Should there be some additional hardware to keep it in place like a clip or should I bend the lip a little?  2) The inside end is open.  Since it doesn't fit snug against the wall, this could allow oil to go around the strainer rather than through the mesh (although unlikely if the strainer is clear).  Should the end be capped off?  I could wire an additional screen or cap to it.

JB weld it into place... the other end should be closed.... wire screen soldered over the hole.

There was a special clip that held the screen in place. I use mechanics wire. Couple turns around the end and across the screen. It can be removed and cleaned as it was designed.
