That was supposed to be funny - seriously about all the gears are 2X the size as well as the tranny coupler gears plus about 500+ lbs in chassis weight.

Well
Allis made the D17 IV with live hydraulics and heavy duty 3 point hitch option. because the early D17 series made the D17 worthy of improvements... The smaller tractors are good tractors but if I could only have one tractor on the farm it would be a D17. |

D-15 dimensions: overall length 130 inches....wheelbase 87 inches.....height at hood 57 inches......shipping weight 4200 lbs. D-17 dimensions: overall length 140 inches.......wheelbase 93 inches........height at hood 60 inches.......shipping weight 5300 lbs.

Ok. Thanks for your help. I have a D15 that is in need of some TLC. Found a D17 for $500.00. Didn't know if any of the parts would fit.

I have one of each, each has its place. D15 is more compact and easier to maneuver. D17 of course has more power and is heavier. I use the D15 for lighter duty work and the D17 for heavier tillage work. Some of the basic parts are interchangeable but most mechanical parts are not, two different engines, different transmissions.
