Same vintage for both, yes they interchange. If one is a 1958 and the other a 1962, they are not the same vintage. Water pump has to be the same style on both.

Did that on mine. I got a block from MACK and used his fire rings in the head gasket.

Did the gas version have the same issue as the diesel did?
