i have a series 4 the power steering  works to the right but it wont work to the left and the pump just whines when you try to turn left any ideas thanks David

Rack is broken in the ram on right side of engine.    MACK

is the ram the long tube with the line running into the end of it in front of the starter

Yes it is ahead of the starter.   May need one or all. Cylinder shaft, gear rack,or pin.
