I am looking for a 1 row potato digger. It can be ground or PTO driven, running or not, but must be complete. The two photos show the type of digger I'm looking for, but any make or model will be considered. Thank you.
Thanks & God Bless

Dennis

Dennis, I have a Hoover that looks a lot like the picture. I spent about 40 hours working on to try it out. I dug my potatoes in about 1/2 an hour but could have done the patch by hand in a few hours instead of tinkering with the digger. It's pretty much a yard ornament now cause the chain links are near worn into. Good luck finding what you need and if everything else fails, a 6 tine pitchfork works great.
I might add, a digger like the one in the picture will not work worth a hoot if there is grass and weeds in the patch.

I have one that looks like the picture you have posted.  However, it is not complete.  The hitch was modified to work off a tractor's 2 point hitch.  Also has some other weld jobs on it.  However, I am looking to sell it, so let me know if you are interested.

I have a one row digger in great shape.  It was horse drawn, but has been converted to PTO drive.  Make ins unknown.  I dig about 1/8th acre each year.  It works very well.

I have a one row digger in bad shape.
it a Hoover . looks a lot.like your picture.
It was horse drawn, but has been converted ,
it a yard ornament or for display
now but i did walk behind it to find and bunch
up the potato to let them dry 5/10 acre a year
a little info for you
In 1885 Isaac W. Hoover applied for a patent
for his design for a potato digger. The next year,
the In 1916 Hoover of Avery, Ohio, and his
brother-in-law, Albert Prout, formed the Hoover
& Prout Co. to manufacture and promote the
Hoover potato digger.
In 1910, Prout left the business and it was renamed
the Hoover Manufacturing Co. In 1926 Hoover sold
his digger to the John Deere Plow Co., which had been
the digger's sole distributor.

That is the same one I have, but mine doesn't have the front truck. It was pulled behind a tractor by the previous owner. Mine also does not have the new paint but it does still have yellow on it and you can easily see that all the casting lines had black pinstiping.
