I am going to add a kill switch to my WC electrical system.  At what point do I wire it in?  I would assume between the coil and what else, or am I totally off?  Also there was a solenoid on the tractor, but I am not sure I need it do I?  Thanks for all the help.

Unless its been converted, a WC is Mag fired, it wouldnt have a coil that is external. In the case of a mag fired tractor, you need to put a switch inbetween the stud sticking out the side of the MAG and ground

I assume you have a electric start WC with a magneto.  The original starter did not have a solenoid.  May have been added to give push  button start.  As for a kill switch, you need to have a wire attached to the same screw that the condensor wire attaches to.  To kill, this wire needs to be attached to a switch that can supply a ground.  Some of the magnetos had a kill switch on them on the LH side.  Others had a post there to attach a wire.  Hope this helps. - AL

It has been coverted to a distributor.  The soleniod sets where the original push button starter switch set on the side of the starter.  My push button starter switch is now on the foot plate under the steering wheel and my kill switch is up by my trottle cable.  Do I have you confused now?

With a distributor ignition you have battery voltage supplying current to the coil. For the kill switch, you need to interrupt that supply voltage. You can add the kill switch  anywhere in between the on off switch and the coil.

If you take the solenoid off, you will need to add a manual switch to supply power to the starter.

It you have battery ignition, then you already have a ignition switch.  If you want to add an additional kill switch, then you need to place a power interrupt switch somewhere in series between the ignition switch and the coil. - AL
