I have acquired a snap coupler toolbar hookup, less the bar, but I am thinking of making a seven-row bean cultivator out of it.  What tractor would work best, a WD45, or should I go to a D15/17.   I currently cultivate with my 180, but I am looking for something with a narrower tire.  I am kind of leaning for a '45, due to the offset nature of the seat, for visibility.  Thanks!

I use to have a 500 4 row rear cultivator. It weighed over 1500#s. You will need alot of weight out front. My wd would just bounce the front off the ground with 300# out there. My D-17 would lift it higher and could do it with no weights. But it needed them.

Put 15.5 x 38 rears on your 180. Works great for 7 row cultivator in 20 inch rows. We use an International 183 S-tine. If your area is like mine, used cultivators are real cheap. Usually bidding against the scrap man.
