Challenger tractors

   I know there may be a lot of different opinions but has anyone on here had any personal experience with Challenger tractors? Besides hearing what other dealers are saying about them I was wondering about someone who had owned one or still has one?

	I never owned one but drove a couple when I worked for CAT in Aurora. I also drove a neighbors 65 in the field with a ripper buried behind. It was pretty amazing how much power went to the ground without hardly any slippage. When I hear Challenger I think of the rubber tracks. From what a guy told me that has worked on several, replacing the tracks, the tracks are pricey and don't have the longevity you would think necessary for the cost.

	I was thinking more about the smaller rubber tired tractors.Like 100 hp tractor for all around work.Anyone have any experiance with them?

	I have a MT455B challenger that is around 85 hp with FWA and love it (first FWA I have owned though). Rides a little rough because of it's short wheelbase but with it's Quicky loader it is very handy for haying and chores. Only had it stuck once but it was STUCK. The MT465B is the same tractor at 95hp (same Perkins engine) and I wanted the extra power so I took it to the pump shop after warranty ran out and for $250 it now is a 100hp tractor. I plant with it and it works great with my Kinze 6/11 row no-till. Mine has the 4X4 16 speed trans and the only thing I would change about it is in the high side of 4th it runs 24 mph and if you hit the button to down shift it goes to 17mph. I would have liked it to be around 19-20 mph. Doyle
