Add me to the appreciation list. The knowledge here is a big part of the reason 2 or my 3 tractors are orange.
Whenever I've had an issue the good people here have pointed me in the right direction. The knowledge these guys offer is something that money simply cannot buy. Thanks guys! |

Yes Thanx, Dr. Allis, Mack, TBran and others for all your help and encouragement.
Experience is a tough teacher, but often very difficult to remember things, without it! I don't post much, but my son and I, really enjoy all the Posts. Helps us keep our 170's and 175's running here in foothills of NC, plus all the other little Allis Pets.... NC Bruce

Thanks for kind words, as to a book - well if the search engine works - there is a huge book right here. About every issue I have know has been attacked and 99+ % solved on the forum here. I worked for Norm Swinford on his Expo Gal marketing tours and he was the 'expert' as he had the discipline to do the research and write the book. the book "Plow Peddler" by Walt Buescher was also a history of the men who sold the iron that helped produce the food that fed the world. I do have a book in progress, it is the most difficult time consuming project every undertook . I hope to have it out before I pass :-) It will not be much about AC iron but rather family and former AC co workers and frends - will take another year at my rate before going to someone who can put it in readable form. I am so blessed to have been the "Forrest Gump" to a lot of events and great people who touched the orange. We are all fortunate to rub internet elbows with those here who have the wealth of knowledge that makes others green with envy.

I have to chime in with everyone else. In today’s world of throw-away part assemblies and the dwindling number of A-C mechanics, combined with Agco’s continual decline in dealer presence (at least in Oklahoma) it’s invaluable to have guys on the forum here like Dr, Mack, and TBran. Sometimes I feel like they must have to get frustrated explaining stuff they’ve known like the back of their hand for so long to novices like myself, but hopefully we can keep learning from them and try to preserve as many tips and tricks as we can on the Internet here so these machines might still be running well in another 50 years.
It would be nice if there was an archive section like the Knowledge Base where topics were broken down into model/series and the issue at hand. Of course, that would take a lot of moderator work trying to sort through the thousands of posts. Edited by CrestonM - 29 Mar 2022 at 10:46am |

Another vote for all the positive accolades for the members who contribute to our knowledge base. I love hearing the stories from the guys on the front line in the late 60's and early 70's that worked on AC tractors "back in the day". That's when I grew up with them too.

Captain Dana - the blue skies and tailwinds hayseed farmer. ![]() Was thinking the other day about how so many contribute to this site and the help that is given... and if it were not for Darin's efforts to put this site up, none of it would be here. So I say KUDOS to all, Darin, Doc Allis, Mack, and all that give answers and those that ask the questions that need answers. ![]() |

I would not have been able to make our 23 beasts like new without our Dr Allis and Mack. Believe me when I say I can’t even imagine the last 25 years of my life without them helping! Thank you Dr Allis, Mack and the many others whom have helped this hayseed along. Dana

I join in with expressing my gratitude towards the many of you who share your wealth of knowledge on here. People like you are what it takes to keep the intrest going in these older machines and keep folks from getting discouraged when they have questions or just need advice. We are very fortunate to have so many knowledgeable folks on here that share their talents and experiences with us.
Thank you |

A few more, more experienced folks could be added but still would not cover all the ones with the knowledge to share. So a good place to say THANKS EVERONE THAT SHARES WHAT THEY CAN to help keep all the old stuff running.

I’ve found out over the years that these gentlemen that we’re speaking of that if I ever met them personally I wouldn’t need to talk much but I’d sure as heck would listen to them. I learned quickly when I joined this forum who to listen to and who not to. They have helped me more times than I could count. My appreciation and kudos to all.
