Went to a garden tractor pull this weekend and it peeked my interest a little bit. Not to say that I wasn't toying with the idea before the pull. More pracitical than a NTPA calibre tractor to satisfy the pulling urge. Anyway are there any of the allis garden tractors out there that are more condosive to pulling than others? Cost is also a limiting factor in the building descision. If I understand right the Allis's are made by Simplicity if so any good Simplicity's? In the club that pulls around home paint and tires are about the only allowed changes. It also has to be a 85 or older so I would be limited to just the true Allis's. What can be done to squeze a little more out while staying " stock"?

I don't know anything about pulling, but if anyone is interested I have a Duetz Allis garden tractor that could be had cheap. I believe these were made in early 80's? It needs a starter, but other than that in good shape. I paid $325 for it, but that's before the starter went bad.

If you have you have to leave them stock you can do just as good as anyone else. I would go with a seven hundred or nine hundred series, no hydro. We did quite well years ago with three nine hundred series, even in altered stock. Fred
