Mine has the electric button you push to open the tailgate. It got to the point where the tail gate button would not open. Pusj the button and it would click like normal but not open. I took the cover off it today and watched it. I've got to remove 2 bolts and find out if a nut on the end of the motor shaft has loosened up. Motor turns but only moves 1/2 way. Looks like the motor is GM only. Cant complain, at 25 mpg it gets far better mileage than the van.

I looked online.. it's only a $100 part......dang buy TWO !! You 'might' get lucky and use shopair to blow the krap out of it,especially all the 'oil spray' that got on it. Be nice to be able to 'bench test' it a zillion times before you reassemble...

Aren't all these gizmos that are designed to break that are being forced on those that buy new vehicles just wonderful
The last "new" vehicle I'll ever own is a 93. If I ever get anything else #1 it won't have anything controlled by a computer #2 it won't have any electric operated things that can't be done manually. Are people getting so lazy that everything has to be done for them, or by a switch instead of a lever?

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

it ain't us being lazy.. it's the 'world class' vehicles being guilt need to have 'fly by wire ' tech..aka 'universal'.. puters and wires make that easy for 'them'. scary stuff is the ACTIVE RADAR to be in the 'cabin' to see WHO is sitting where for active seatbelt control....

If I understand correctly; we're talking about a pick-up here not a Jumbo Jet. Just because auto makers can do something cheaper doesn't make it better. If it wasn't for all those that want a "truck" image with Caddilac creature comforts a truck would still be a truck. My dad worked with a fellow years ago that had a "Daddy's Pwetty Widdle Truwk" and would not even let a keg of beer be put in the bed. So why did he even NEED a truck then
This is why pickups today are costing the price a house was not all that long ago.

Now how ya posed to justify a 90 grand price tag with something as simple as a chain latch? When the bottom line is raise the bottom line that just will not work.
