Hey a’ll,
Well I started another project: a WD with a 33 picker. It has real good spark but won’t fire even with starting fluid so I’m completely lost of what to do. |

JC, it ran when it was parked.
Joe, I put some PB-Blaster in the plug holes. I put new old stock points on and cleaned and set them at .020”. Not sure if that right? |

I found the problems, I was one spark plug wire off and the carb is gummed up so I put a old Zenith carb that I took off my 49 Wd( I put a marvel schebler the 49 Wd) and it ran like a good Allis should!!

Did you install new spark plugs? Seen that before with old plugs, spark very well when not in the cylinder but wouldnt work when in the cylinder.

I switch them with a set I had sitting around for quite a while, I pretty sure they are new but they’re Champions so I will put Autolights in it after a while.
And like I said it runs like a good Allis should. |

I ordered a set of 13.6-28 tubes and took a rim in to my local welding shop to fix around the valve stem ( it had rust holes).
The tractor is still 6v so thinking of the pluses and minuses of putting it to 12v. Napa can get the 6v battery for $101.99 bucks!! |

Well I got the rim back and painted both and got the one on, now it’s just trying to get the other side off and put the tire on. Both back tires had fluid in them...

I found out to day that the water pump leaks but it’s not lose, it just drips a lot.
I started the picker and everything was working and decently quiet, the blower fans aren’t hooked up yet so not sure how they hook up if anyone has any ideas or pictures? I think I got a hunch that the 6 holes on the back part of the frame rails have something to do with it? |

I was going to switch my WD to 12v until I changed out the battery cables to 1/0 wielding cables. What a huge difference!!! It spins the motor like a 12v. Left mine stock 6v. That was 3 years ago, still strong spinning it over. I prefer to leave it stock as it came from AC.

55,
Nice picker project! Have fun with the old girl. Items you found sound about right. I like them switched to 12 volt. But thats just me they will run and start very well on 6 Volt too.
Regards, Chris |

What a beauty and best of luck!
I can't remember how the blowers bolt on, but I leave the belt off mine inless it's picking. If you do a corn picker search on here and find some posts with my name, i probably have a picture of it for ya |

Looks good, do you have the side covers for the engine, I wouldn't pick any corn without them

Yes I do, I have them off to work on the tractor. Also have the front screen that covers the radiator shell. I will get a picture of it with everything on. |

I would guess once a picker got added to a WD it rarely come off due to the complexity of mounting it? Would be neat to watch it pick corn. Has to be a very noisy and dirty job running one.
