These aren't mine, I just saw them tonight when I was killing time. I know that some of the users on this site are partial to the sound of a Nelson muffler. They are NOT inexpensive ($225 delivered) but they are available. I thought Nelson quit making these long ago. |

I think you'll learn that the person with this advert. went to the effort to have Nelson make them. Had to buy a certain number to get it done. Has done this with several other models as well. Can't remember his name, is in Wisc.
I've 1 of his and a copy, both have outlet pipe in end of cannister. There is a difference in sound when they're working, puttin' around yard not so much. Put them on disc, plow, 6x30 planter, windrower, and you notice the difference. BUT either sound better than the mufflers with the outlet in the center, I've one in the iron pile.

That would be Alex. Have one of those mufflers on the 185, man does it sound sweet running the brush-hog! Got mine straight from him, skip the E-bay fees.

Glad to know that they really are good mufflers. I did not have a clue about the back story. I use a (very nice) glass pack car muffler on my 185 because the cheap replacement one I ordered was like running a straight pipe. |
