Started planting corn today and after i planted a while and the oil got warm my xt really struggled to lift my 6 row jd 7000 planter. I just rebuilt the pump this winter and this was its first heavy use since. All new gears, bearings, seals and back up plates. I also changed the plate around the power steering gears, but did not change the plate for the front section. My dad thinks maybe since i put all new bearings in it that maybe the tolerance between the gears and plate is too much, but i really thought that section wasn't worn terribly. I did swap relief valves from the tb to the remotes with no change. Looking for ideas if any, otherwise i might have to go back into the pump. I have not had a chance to get a gauge on it yet. The pump worked better before i rebuilt than it does now so I'm pretty disappointed in it right now. Gotta keep the rpms up to get it to lift when warm.

Get a gauge and test with cold oil. Then, retest when it warms up. A pump issue should be worse when hot. When cold, if the speed is good and then fades away when hot, doubtful that it is relief valve because you have swapped them. That's a lot of work to go thru one and then not turn out well. Only look at the front section for the problem when disassembling it.

So a little update. I went to go plant this morning and when the tractor was cold it still wouldn't lift the planter decent so i assume something happened somewhere in the system yesterday. When i get some time I'll have to start looking into it. Luckily i have the 180 i can put on the planter, although i do prefer the 190 just because i can see so much better.
