 Ok guys its time to get ready to do an overhaul in the transmission on fourth gear. It keeps jumping out. I also have several leaks around the axels and 3-point arms. I'm figuring on taking it apart and cheking it over from the clutch back, replacing whatever needs replacing. This is my first time with a 190 so I'm asking you guys what to look for and where to get my parts. A new coat of paint will also be in order. Thanks for any help you maybe able to offer!

My 190 was also jumping out of fourth gear, only on deceleration. When inspecting it I noticed the trans input shaft would move up and down slightly.The bearihg retainer that holds the input shaft bearing has a gasket behind it. On mine I made a thinner gasket to hold the bearing tight and stop the shaft from wobbling and causing the shift collar to move back to neutral position. I also replaced the input shaft, bearing, and shift collar.The problem has been fixed for several years and has never jumped out of gear since. There may be other causes for jumping out of gear also, like the shifter fork and shifter assembly.If you have a lot of wear on your bull gears and bull pinion shafts, you can move them from left to right  to drive on the less worn side of the gears. You will need a service manual to set the clearance on on all the gears and shafts in the trans and rear end housing.

Mine had the same problem as Pete's.  Input shaft moved up and down, bearings were sloppy, and shift forks were worn bad - All this causes the tranny to jump out of gear.  Once you get this fixed, it will be as good as new.  I moved around the bull gears too since one side was worn.

The 180`s through 200 tractors all have similar problems, in addition the problems described above, the input shaft has a smallroller bearing in side of the rear of the shaft that supports the main trans shaft, (it also the pinion shaft for the rear). The bearing gets worn or worst fails and the end of the shaft gets damaged, also the in side of the input shaft. Inspect carefully and measure them out, I have had the main shafts built up and turned back to specs with good sucess, the option is to replace the ring and pinion as a set, super expensive. I have had the inside of the input done as well but there are new replacements out there and the cost is about the same. Check close it`s a lot of work to go back and do it again.
