I replaced all the bearings in the the final drives of my CA, however within a few weeks the bearing on the ends of the axles were out again. The axles appear to have too much end play. Is there a retainer ring on the axle somewhere that keeps it from moving in? I think this is what needs replaced, but I'm not sure how to get to it. Any ideas? |

The bearings on the axle is set with the stud on the inside bearing by adding or removing shims. Located under the cap.

If you replace any tapered roller bearing, you need to reset clearances in the bearings. Timken type bearings will run loose, but will not last long at all if they are too tight. Tolerances are close for diameters and race finish but the overall stack height will vary.
