I have a '48 B that after aggressive cleaning and pressure washing I came to the conclusion that the block and head did not start life together.
The engine serial number is R1126G.
I know the difference between the BE and CE blocks but would like to know what an "R" block is, if it is a factory replacement block or out of a combine or other power equipment.
If it is a factory replacement block did they come as a "short block" with crank, pistons, etc. or bare block?
  TIA
BILL
