Hi there! Congrats on your new house and small garden, that's so exciting! It's always nice to have a cozy outdoor space to relax in, and rattan garden furniture can be a great addition. If you're considering buying rattan furniture, I've got some experience with it and I absolutely love it! It's stylish, comfortable, and durable. When looking to buy rattan furniture, just make sure you're getting something that's good quality and well-made. That way, you can enjoy it for years to come. If you want to check out some options, I highly recommend taking a look at gardencentreshopping.co.uk. They have a wide selection of rattan garden furniture at affordable prices. So, welcome to the forum and happy shopping for your new garden furniture

Unfortunately, I can't see pictures of your entertainment center or Roku TV. To update the post, you can reload these photos into the post. Perhaps the photo links have changed over time and stopped working. Either way, I know which TV you're talking about. I'm annoyed by the pile of TV wires that must be pulled through walls or doors to the modem. My doors from https://belldinni.com/interior-doors.html are too nice and new to make an ugly hole with a black wire drill. I have beautiful Scandinavian white wood doors. How can I disfigure that with the black wire that I can't hide? Do you have any ideas on how we can hide these ugly wires?

I finished my basement with a bundle of cedar fence pickets from Home Cheapo, I think a little over a buck a board, was cheap but wow has that price changed in 2 years. Even made the bar out of cedar. When your going for the rustic look I found out that a saws all, chop saw, and "throw away day" table saw make for a good looking finish. People come over and some have asked me to build them a bar like that out of cedar and I decline because there's no way I could ever wood butcher something like that twice. ![]() It sounds like you didn't go with my carpenter work and made something nice, red oak done right is beautiful! When I was in grade school I built a gun cabinet out of red oak and 40 years later it's as nice as the day I built it and still heavy as shi$

Hello, DMiller! You did an excellent job renovating this old TV entertainment center furniture box. I think you did a better job than me when I did the same operation with my old TV furniture box. I ended up ordering new furniture at https://furniturevogue.co.uk/bar-stools since I broke 2 sides with the hammer hits, haha. I think I need to take some lessons from you on making the proper renovation process with my old furniture. I sent you a private message with my furniture photos. Thank you for your answer in advance!

We have purchased a couple oak pieces from Amish shops up in NE Ohio in the past. Not cheap $$ but pretty well made.

This is how it starts! First an entertainment center, next a couple of end tables, and all of a sudden you are making more stuff for other people than yourself. The nice thing is the woodworking will give me a business when I retire in a few months.

It looks very cool, especially for those who like minimalism. It's cool that you can do the furniture yourself. No need to go somewhere and spend extra money for the service. By the way, here`s similar furniture, only that`s more suitable for the garden, www.gardenfurniture.co.uk some mates advised this store. They have a very similar laconic design as your looming box and shelves. And some elements may well fit into the living room, especially if you still like minimalism more than pretentiousness and piling up unnecessary decorative elements.

Well done D, very 60's looking, proof positive that a Craftsman such as yourself can work in just about any medium, just by putting your mind to it. I think the real trick these days is finding dry wood that is straight and will stay that way. BTW you kinda told on yourself when you said "pin" and not "dowel"

DMiller, that’s awesome! Love the real wood aroma during wood project builds. Your magnet idea has me intrigued. That must allow for easy access of cords. Got any info (size, weight capacity, sources)about the magnets? Thanks

Speaking to an old friend that moved to UK several decades ago, found he cannot even change a light fixture in his home there or a door knob or striker as those are Skilled Craft required jobs with some requiring permits to perform. Very Sad as stated can buy Hand Tools but nothing Powered by electric including a drill or gasoline besides a mower.

You're doing very well. I think you could sell your work to a local store or to other people. Not all things from the store can be of good quality. My friend bought a sofa in a local store and two years later, it changed in appearance and it was no longer so comfortable to sit on it. I was afraid that I could buy furniture of poor quality too. I started searching online for stores with good quality and inexpensive prices. Also, one of my friends sent me a website https://www.abakusdirect.co.uk/sofas/by-type/corner-sofas.html where he bought a sofa of good quality.

Now ain't That the truth!! I hear from so many 'Youth' they "Have to Have what they grew up with" or "Have no money to enjoy life" yet are hammering away on a $600 Ipad or some form of NEW Iphone they upgrade to each year living on UI or Min Wage, want it all must have it all, drive a expensive car for repairs that is getting old(Mommy and Daddy Bought) where cannot afford repairs or a replacement(IE The magic Rock and Hard Place) and NO INTENT on learning to fix what they own or making something with their own hands,

But with all of the money you saved building it yourself, you should get the 80". Tell your wife that it is a 65. Chances are, she'll never measure it.
Great looking project today and for all the tomorrows to follow.

I referred to our newlywed furniture as being "late college modern". Mostly plywood and cinder blocks. Except when I made our beds out of packing crates. Fortunately my wife sewed well and could transform rough lumber into "furniture".

Great job!
I remember our first entertainment center was two milk crates and a board across the top when we first got married. It worked great for that 19" set. LOL
