185 value update

Rear rims and tires.  If the chloride leaked it will have ruined the rims.  Check around the valve stems for damage.  That'll drop the price.  Shape of the tin, fenders, and lights.  How the engine runs.  How many hours?

If low hours and clean, a very nice 185 will do 10-12k in my area. Deduct for what it needs.

I didn’t know that a 185 was available without 3pt? I would say another bonus for 30” rubber, 28” seems less desirable.

Our '69 180 has 3 point hitch and hydraulic PTO engagement (540 only), would have thought a 185 would be standard equipment ?? 

I have a neighbor with a 180 without 3pt, never seen a 185 without.

Yes, in this area there were lots of 190xt,s and 706 and 806 IH without three points, even a few 200. Then in the early 70s we started raising sunflowers and everyone want three point to cultivate, a lot of after market 3pts installed. I had a 706, put Cornhusker 3pt on, was fine for cultivating with a 6 row, maybe not so good for a plow or heavy tillage. Just sold that 706 this winter.

Ok we went and looked. Not as nice as last time we seen it but still not bad. It's not all tour up. Sheet metal, fenders aren't rotted and are straight, the hood has a dent but not real bad, has side tins, grill shroud is good but screen is dented. Looks like a older repaint. Has one ag front and one truck tire on front, rear tires are descent with more then half tread and not cracked, one rim is good an one is showing rust that prolly by time it needs tires will need replacing. Tach shows 2500 hr. There's hyd lines to the pto drop box so that's hyd pto right. He hasn't used it in five years but starts it each year. Radiator is full an clean looking, oil looks ok. He told dad 5000 before we even looked, the battery didn't have enough umph to start it but did turn over. After that he told dad 4000. He getting older and hates seeing it sit. Should we go back with battery and run it or go back with battery and run it onto a trailer to bring home. Did I leave anything out.

$4k and not pay for any repairs to sell it, would already be gone. 185 should have either or 540/1000 pto, also did not state rear or front rims sizes, OE fronts should have been 15's for 9.5 15Ls, and rears could be either 4 rail 28s or five rail thirties, sure wish I could find a set of thirties and centers for my 180. ONE 18.4/28 is as much as a pair of ANY width 30's.

Price is about right here. I'd love to have it for that price.

Neighbor has a 185, 30" rears, 16 fronts, wish I had it but my 180 does give me good service.

Yep! Now imagine a turbo’d 185 on 18.4x34’s. It has a sweet sound and I don’t know how fast it goes but it’s almost scary
