Does anyone have a picture(or a link to one) of the train full of gleaners? I would say it was from the late 80s.

I would like to see that picture also. Youtube has lots of JD & Case-IH train videos, but no gleaners. I've been trying to check Allis-Chalmers promotional films to see if any of them contained such footage, but no luck.

I recall seeing an entire train load of Gleaner Combines as the feature article and on the cover of one of the Allis Chalmers Club publications (Allis Connection or Old Allis News). I am guessing it was published in the 1990's or early 2000's. I am away from my AC magazines collection, or I would look it up and post the pics and article. I will post in a couple of weeks, unless some other forum member can find before.

Squared off rear tin work and rear wheel weights. F2 maybe??? It takes 4 power units to take it down the rails. Maybe overkill, and maybe not. Thank you for the pictures Acdiesel.

That isn't the one I was thinking of but good none the less. I have found one of a train load of F or G's but not the one I am looking for. The one I remember is L's or M's for as far as the picture shows. Not sure how to post a link the F/G train...

If you google "train load of combines" it is a little ways down in the images. If someone is able to post the picture or link.

So...those are definitely of the train...just not the picture I remember. It is possible that the picture I remember was one taken by a family member. I guess I need to start digging in old pictures! It talking to dad about it he said that he got an R6 off of that train that he demonstrated to a guy. That combine was transferred to Iowa for corn harvest. Does anyone remember getting a transfer R6 from ND that had “plenty of power to spare”...as he put it?

Those are cool pictures. My dad always says he wishes gramp or someone took pictures of the new tractors on train cars when they went to the little near by train station to get the tractors off rail cars to bring back to to dealership.
