I recently changed oil and filter in my Series 3 D 17 Gas and the oil pressure is showing high on the guage ( pegged to the right ) I used a NAPA 1515 filter which is what the book calls for and I believe these are a WIX filter. Doe s anyone on here have any experience with this ? Is there a particular filter brand that is preferred for these tractors ?

If it is an "Allis-Chalmers" OEM gauge, ..pegged to the right is very normal.....only time it will be less than that is with hot eng oil and engine idling.

is it the original gauge? i replaced mine with another that was described as being for a d17, but after seeing the same thing and asking, i found out that there are atleast 2 different gauges, 0-30lb and 0-90lb....something along those lines. don't know if that's the case or not....just thought i'd throw it out there.
