This is the first time we ran the Allis Chalmers WD in a slow race. And
it is the first time Andrew drove in one and he did really well even
for his first time. Neither of us thought that the tractor would run at such a low idle but
it did. If not for the little Panzer garden tractor, he would have won
his heat and probably placed in the top 3 overall since the Panzer took
3rd Place. The race starts at the 1:05 mark. [TUBE]g8GhGOeOQ-E?t=62[/TUBE]

I think he won that race because that pedal tractor should not have been allowed to enter. I had mine at a local show a couple of years ago and they allowed modern tractors with hydro to compete and naturally the hydro won. Not fair by any means.

I agree. I am extremely competitive and didn't think it was right that they let him run. He also kept playing with his throttle. Unfortunately the museum that hosts the show is very much an "everyone gets a trophy" place and the race was "just for fun" so I didn't want to say anything. Plus, I was a Connecticut flat lander in Vermont (the land of my fathers family) and didn't want to get a reputation. Fortunately my filters worked and we just smiled then complained on the way home.
