I don't think you can rebuild the shock, can you? The only thing replaceable are the rubber bushings at each end if it uses rubber bushings.

If I went to the trouble of tightening everything up, I'd sure hate to have a dead shock absorber. It would be like riding a jack-in-the-box.

From experience, IF you weigh 200 lbs or more and the OEM shock / spring assy is shot it just bottoms out and rides almost as poorly as before replacing worn pins n bushings, cushions n arm rests. Shock was on order but needed to use tractor, now with the new shock/spring installed it rides really nice, should've rebuilt it 10 years ago.

I would. I bought a new shock years ago for my WD when I went through that seat assembly and it rides pretty nice for a WD.

Got all parts in. FYI the shock comes with the spring and the rubber bushings an spacers on each end. Now I have extras.

What did the shock cost? I bought the pins from AGCO and bronze bearings at the hardware store.

Anything would be better than nothing. Bronze bushings will soak up oil to a degree.

On my 200 and D17 I have kept every pivot on the seats lubed with cheap motor oil and there is very little wear on either one. Not bad for a 56 and 45 year old tractor.

Mikez,
Your new seat and support assembly looks great. Congrats on taking the time to maintain the original appearance and functionality of your 200 tractor.

A fellow forum member gave me info at the time. You google Serco loaders. It's a forestry log loader and they use that seat. When you look it up find your local dealer. I be leave this is the part number. SERHH1005 and SERHH1106. I had the parts guy send pictures to be sure. It's a nice built seat but not cheap. Good luck
