What should the gap be on the points on my wd? You set the gap when its on the corner or lobe correct, and then they should close when they are on the flat part? Thanks

Yes your method is correct. Point gap is .020". Spark plug gap if you are checking is .028 to .032" as per owner's manual for WD45 tractor. I generally set mine at .025" Should be same spec for WD.
