I have four inch guttering. I need to punch a hole in it for another down spout. I have seen the tool to do this but i hate to do the 50 buck service call to have one punched in. How would you all go about this from a farmerized perspective?

Hammer, chisel, duct tape. And probably a band-aid.

Shot gun, BLAM, hole made, now to finish with circular tin snips... if there's anything left

Draw out the area you want to cut out. Use an old beat-up wood chisel to punch a hole in the center then use aviation snips to cut it out. This is all I ever used when doing gutters and downspouts, I've done hundreds of them this way.

Ask Shameless to redirect his 'machine'...there now you don't have to make another hole cause it's all covered with that white stuff he loves to share....... neighbour just upgraded his troughs from 5 " to 6", didn't know 4" was still around..you don't get a lot of rain ?? up here 'tin whackers' must have got their nickname by the way they install .Whack a screwdriver through the gutter, hack with snips, use 1/2 tube of sillycon to seal. The sad thing is I can use a proper die set in LESS time and do the job RIGHT. Jay

It appears on mine they just cut an X and folded the tabs down into the downspout.
