Another one in the 300 club

   Coming home from Bismarck tonight in the wife's Toyota four runner, and it turned over the 300,000 mile mark. Fourth vehicle I've turned  over that milestone, and sad part of it is, I still own and drive 3 of them! 
First one was a 93 chevy burb. It was on its second engine, but all other major components were original. At 310,000, the transmission went out, and I knocked it in the head.
Second one was my 01 chevy burb. It turned over a couple years ago when I was coming home from visiting Shameless. Transmission and transfer case both have been replaced on it, but the engine is still un-touched. It has the 8.1 liter in it. Has just shy of 330,000 on it now. Gets used almost daily yet.
Next came the 02 chevy Silverado four door 2500 pickup. Just like the burb; replaced tranny and transfer case, but engine is still original. 310,000 on it now. It's pretty much a "farm truck", but still gets used a lot, just not too many long trips. 6.0 gas engine in it.
Then came the Toyota today. Only thing done to it was a timing belt at 200,000. Been beat to hell going through two hailstorms and doesn't look too pretty, but still is reliable. (Knocks on wood). That's my "drive to work" vehicle, so it's racking on about 90 miles a day, five days a week. 
Getting to be time to take a serious look at something different, maybe with a few less miles. LOL! Sure has been lots of gas, oil changes, and tires throughout the years, but I guess that's part of the cost of getting from point A to point B.

	My wife is Toyota girl, so toyo it is. We think we will keep the Highlander for a while since we like it so much. So it has 65K on the clock and counting.

	Well,,contrary to what ole Shameless thinks bout ole Joe,,,,,,I got one of them good old Chevys too,,!! I have my 2006 HHR,somebody once told me what HHR stood for but it slips my mind at the moment,,,, That little car has been a great one at 31 MPG and Ya'll know how much I likes to "save",,,,,,It gots 245,000 and does not use any oil and all I've done is brake pads and a new alternator just last week,,,Dang,,was that a BFJ,,,you gots to have little bitty hands or you ain't gettin nowhere in thet tight engine compartment,,,can't hardly flat rate this car,,,,,,,,

	AND,,,if I could just talk the old lady,,,er,,,the wife,,,to let me sell her Toyota Sequoia,,I would have a great vehicle for sale. We bought it brand new in 2003 and it only gots 125,000 very gently used miles. We parked it after the wife had her stroke and it been parked in the boat shed bout 5 years,,,,,sigh,,,,,,,

	Last week the 2004 Freightliner I Drive at work rolled over 1,100,000. It has only had an inframe done a some point a couple years before I got into it at about 750,00 back in the late fall of 2016. It will still out pull anything at 80,000 I’ve seen on the highway and do it all day long. I get a kick out of the fancy chomed up fellows that I pass when they chide me for being empty. I’m a bulk hauler, I rarly run empty and never light.
	If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

	I hear ya, the old 97 Pete I ran would run circles around most newer machines out there while loaded a Little over Max Gross allowed at a Million 120,000. My own 99 7.3 Ford is a 300 clubber just crossed 340,000 this summer. Only one here with less than 100,000 is the 2012 Harley and the wife's 2017 Explorer. Edited by DMiller - 27 Oct 2018 at 6:14pm
