I hate it when things change, I am still in love with the PPG Delstar and DP40 primer I can no longer get BUT I am slowly getting used to going into my dealer and ordering x number PPG color in OMNI MTK and the Omni epoxy primer plus all the other needed things when I read that there no more OMNI and no more order by number. I have to have 14 numbers and codes and now need to figure out Shopline and if I need double pigments???
 
I was about ready to go back to Farm Fleet where I can simply buy A-C orange in a can, LOL.  I had to go to NAPA yesterday (our PPG dealer) and asked the paint guy what the deal was with my numbers being no good and WTH is "Shopline" anyway?? He looked at me like I was on drugs and said "what number do you want?" I said 60396 Omni MTK. He punches that in his computer and looks back,
 "Allis Chalmers orange right?"---- Yes.
 "Gallon?"---- Yes
 "E-primer, surfacer, Medium reducers and harders?" --Yes
 
Whats with Shopline?  "we dont sell that here"
Thought they were discontinuing Omni? "news to me,,, what else today?
 Nothing,, paid my money and left.
 
Guess all the PPG dealers dont use the same paint mix programming? For those who need them I will give the exact gallon sized mix codes when have them in front of me. Does anyone have the PPG number for the cream? Search didnt reveal one for me??
 
 Anyway I am set up with materials to paint a tractor in number 2 orange,,now which one?? D-19 or 220?

Butch - hey the double the pigments wasn't my idea - it was my PPG dealer's.  He seemed to really know his stuff and it didn't cost me a dime more and he said I'd get better coverage...it's really held up well for me on my D17 Series IV.   But if you have the codes for a straight gallon of 60396 please post them as I'd like to compare them to what I have.  I suspect the codes on my can were the regular formula since they were computer generated.  Mike

P.S....that poor D19 needs the paint worse than the Two-Twenty which has been getting all the attention and $$$$ lately.  Mike

Butch   I have been using delfleet essential whiich is a newer paint .Its a three paint but it goes on real nice.I use at least a quart less paint than I do with the omni and it is hard as nails.The paint dealer I use checked the numbers and the po2 numbers are from ppg can be made into that paint.Alot of the numbers that were on the list that was posted here were no longer good numbers but he did the find po2.I was very unsure of changing but I will use it anytime I can now.

Gary, when you say hard as nails, is it brittle.  The first and last time i used a hard glassy paint it was so hard that it would shatter like glass if something bumped it, instead of a little bitty mark it would chip out in pencil eraser sized areas.

firebrick No it is not brittle at all.I used it on a d14 that the guy was going to use as a rake and wagon tractor and he likes the paint so much he is painting two of his big john deeres with it because it flows nice,covers really well and does not chip.I did a 45 diesel with it and was able to slide the steering shaft throught the brass bushing on the steering post and not even put a mark in it.There is a drug store company around here that uses it on there tractor trailer fleet and there trucks always are at there best apperance.And with the new epa restriction they are coming up with alot of the other paints will not be avalible
