Can anyone tell me what this bracket over the rear axle is and what it may go to? There are two of them one over each axle. They are on a 1961 D15. They do not look like a shadetree fabrication, the welds are too good and the steel is pretty thick, but one never knows. Farmers can be quite inventive! Thanks...

My guess is shade tree  belly mower, blade or loader brackets. I don't think they are factory. too many sharp corners. JMHO, Tracy

I agree , doesn't look factory to me . Our D 15 diesel doesn't have them .

Thanks for the help. I was baffled, but no one in the family knew why grandpa had those on the tractor. I guess I will leave them on when I start the restoration. also so sorry for all that green stuff in the background messing up the picture!
