I thought I would share these pictures of the transmission brake out of my 7000. Good thing I got the NOS one on ebay a while back to keep in my parts bin.
This explains the pieces of friction material I found in the bottom of the hydraulic sump a couple years ago. It matches the exact same material as the brake pad is made of.

was it much of a job to change it out do you have to split the tractor to change one?

Just had to drop the fuel tank, pull the powershift valve, and then knock out a roll pin and bend my arm in some weird ways to get it out. It has a big pin that holds it in place and is also what actuates it. It's hard to explain with words, but if you take the powershift valve off and look up to the top rear of the clutch pack, you will see it. This is just on the 7000, the 7010 and up have a different design.
