My beloved 917 is having a severe issue in the rear. Was mowing the yard this evening and went to turn to the right and it sounds like gears grinding. If I go straight it seams ok. To the left it does it also but not as severe. I am sick, she has never given me issues. Oil and hydro filter changed about every 250 hours instead of every 500 like the book says. I don’t have a parts breakdown book. Any ideas? I have never had one of these apart.

Sounds like the spider gears are gone. Not sure what they ride on, If they have bearings, it may just be them going out. My 917-H , so far is quiet in the rear end. thanks; ac fleet
