Looks like it was a nice tractor before the fire. I would try to fix her up if you can. A year or two ago someone on here posted pics of a WD45? I think that burned to the point that the tires even burned off and within a couple weeks, it was back up and running again. I wouldn't think your D14 wouldn't be all that hard. Might be worth it to buy it back from the insurance company if they won't fix it and do it yourself.

It doesn't really look all that bad to me. Looks like someone got to it with a fire extinguisher before the sediment bowl broke and dumped the gas out and really got things going. It looks like the fire must have started on the battery to me.

First I'm glad you're OK and no one else got hurt! Tractor's are easy to fixup , it's us humans that are difficult!! Second, looks like a good project. Remove all the damaged stuff, order new wiring harness, get genny checked out,new fluids all around, some primer, some PO#1 and you're good to go ! Oh yeah, a new battery might be in order !! I can see the insurance adjuster scratching her head...'what kind of car was this ???', where you wearing your seatbelt ??? From 'their eyes' I can see $3000 in damages.....sure hope you either get the 'salvage' (real cheap, heck if they write it off...it's worth next to nothing, right ?) or do NOT claim it, fix it yourself. |

That is an easy fix there, a couple hundred dollars will get it running again. I wouldn't even bother going through insurance either.
