All - need a replacement mower deck spindle on my Allis 716H garden tractor.  It has a 48" deck and it's a later model  716H with the lights in front (not the side).  Good used one is fine or a good source for new would be fine.  Will be at OPOP/Dale's if anyone can bring one.  Just drop me an e-mail or PM.  Thanks!  Mike

Just had to replace a spindle in mine. (Wife ran over a brick and did a job on it - LOL)
My local Simplicity dealer came up with a replacement and installed it for $100. Don't really know if that is good or bad  ---- but the mower is back in service and we are happy. (meaning wife, mower, and me)

i have two 712 hydro's the deck spindles have removable bearings... why is the whole spindle needed? is it bent? the bearings can be bought about any good parts house or your local a/c dealer......if its frozen up just remove it from the bottom side and pull the bearing from there....i have done this with a few hand tools and the use of a cage style bearing puller,( to pull it off shaft) should only take a few hours of your time.... also they dont tell ya .... you can disassemble them and remove the seals with a pick and pack the bearings with grease, if you wash the deck a lot with a hose i would do this to keep the water out of the bearings at least.use a good water proof grease from your local atv dealer. the way they sandwich the bearings and deck together in mounts it will hold water if hosed down....just fyi ....lol, just another life lesson i have learned.

Bottom part of the spindle is broken....bolt worked loose while using it and the blade did it's number on it before letting go.   I would prefer to buy another assembly then use what's left of current spindle as spare parts.  I was aware you could replace the bearings inside.  Thanks for the input!  Mike

Try Sandy Lake or Norm Stienman   Mike.    I know they both have used mower parts.   I take it that its one of the outside ones, not the center.  When you have the deck out be sure the bolt that hold the drive pulley to the center arbor is tight, cause it can come loose and you wont know it until it ruins the splines in the pulley and on the shaft.  Good luck.

Skip - actually it's the center one.  And it messed up the bottom splines on the shaft near the blade that the special star "washer" slipped on and broke the bottom part of the "arbor".   Thanks!  Mike

there's a simplicity listed on kc craig'slist right now...been there awhile, but it has a 48" deck, asking $250. might almost be cheaper if the deck is good. plus, if you buy it, i won't be tempted anymore to go get it.
