Twisted my back at work Monday before last. Took me right down. Talked to the boss and told him what happened. Said go home and take care of yourself. I called my doc to get in and see her but she is always booked so it wouldn't be right away so I nursed it all week thinking it was a muscle issue.
Didn't help and it was awful. Haven't been in that much pain in ever.

Got in to see her and she did an x-ray and told me she thought I had a cracked or crushed disc. She was going to set me up with a MRI and another specialist. That was this last Monday. The insurance is balking and doesn't want to approve it. WTF.

I told them I did it at work. What I supposed to tell them, they asked me what happened.
I haven't filed a work comp claim but I don't know if it has to do with that or not or if I should even do that.
I do know I have to look after my own ass if no one else is going to cooperate.

The fix is pretty straight forward as far as I can tell. Kind of like mud jacking a driveway.

Fixer I have been down this road. Workers Comp is not your friend. You'll find your company probably won't like you anymore either. You have a serious injury that will follow you the rest of your life. Get an Attorney that specializes in workers comp like yesterday. believe me Workers Comp and most companies will try and weasel out of any responsibilities they may have.

Good Luck

well I've got two 'paper thin' disc [L3-L4-L5] so I KNOW if you have one, you're in trouble. Short version...'found' fresh pea gravel and got tossed off motorcycle. road rash and busted collar bone. Hospital did NOT xray my spinal coloum. Went to few chiropractors for the next 15-20 years. last guy retired, found a new one.He took pix and said come back in 2 days. I do,sit in room, looked at xrays on the machine assuming they were last guys pix. Doc comes in and I say  'gee that guy must be in pain, cause this(lower back) don't look too good'. He say 'well you tell me  that's YOUR back'!..sigh. Yell, scream, kick,.. do whatever but get 'someone' on YOUR side PDQ or you won't be enjoying the next 20-30-50 years.
Oh yeah, I know have 'tennis elbow' ! WTH...getting old sux.

Sorry to hear that!  Sounds like Workers Comp in U S is same as here in Canada!!  "Comp" means "complications", not compensation.!!

If you had much pain and told the boss that-he should have took you to emer room or insisted you go. Timing is critical on workman comp claims from what I have been told. Luckily I never had to deal with workman comp claim but have heard plenty of stories where they looked for a reason to deny claim.

Hey Fixer,,,Ten tour on what others are sayin on Workman's Comp not being your friend. Your employer is prolly already working on what, how they is going to try to deny benefits and like ole Chak says they ain't gonna like you too much after it all said and done. Your supervisor is who should of insisted on taking you to ER under your own power or assign another worker to take you. Believe me ,,,after 33 years,,I've seen too many,,,,from both sides.
Workman's Comp is susspossed to help the working man but has progressed to where your employer is fixin to get penalized because ,, YOU GOT HURT ON THEIR PREMISES and they will find their reasons why YOU FU*** up and are at faultfor the accident. In the end the Company will get their insurance premiums RAISED because of your accident. Get you a lawyer and be ready,,,  Good Luck,,Guy,,we're on your side.Clap

yep...what they above, been thru that workmans (worthless) comp. the doctors work for the companies, and you are the enemy! sorry about your back...i'm still hurting too, and you will too for...well the rest of your days! hopefully they can fix yours, mine they can't. and don't go with the first doc that says he can operate to fix it, gets several doc's opinions and options. you should have gone to the ER right away. now they can puts the blame on you. sorry pal, hope it works out for you!

To EVERYONE who works for ANY company,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,When you get hurt at work, file papers NOW.  Go to the doctor NOW.  Tell your supervisor NOW.  If it's just a little mishap, FILE the paper work NOW.  I don't know if you know the meaning of CYA or not, but MUST be done NOW.  Nobody else is going to look after you or worry about your future employment.  You have to CYA.....(Cover YOUR Azzzzz)

Fixer, get an attorney that specializes in injuries.  They'll usually have a free conference at the start and they really stand up for you.  The gov't pays for it in the end...Have one here in La Crosse that specializes in creating problems for the gov't.  He REALLY ENJOYS  making them squirm!

Not going down that road.
Been doing a lot better. Probably go back to work Monday, light duty.
Pain management is the protocol, not hurt bad enough yet for anything else.
Been getting paid for the time off and medical bills are paid.
I need to get to work. About to loose my chit sitting around here doing nothing.
May try to get my WD running today.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, back pain ranks right up there. Sounds like you got your claim into Workers Comp with your time off and medical being paid. Don't over do yourself and you don't have to prove anything at work. Pain management therapy is usually the first steps in recovery, follow it closely. I have Oxy pills too , but only use them when I can't bear it anymore they make me loopy after awhile. I hate using em before bed as they give me the hee-bee-jee-bee's when falling asleep. I have 3 crushed disks, 2 are basically gone and 1 is barely there, so I'm in some degree of pain all the time. I guess I wouldn't know how to act if I wasn't, my troubles started back in 86. Taker her easy for a while Fixer money is important but it ain't everything.
