What seals the steel coolant lines that connect to the oil cooler? I tightened the nuts and the leak didn't stop. I loosened the nut to see if it was a cracked flared end, but it's not a flare fitting. I only found a few pieces of rubber chunks inside the nut. Is it a rubber compression washer?
Related question. What's the proper coolant to use? If I drain it, I might as well put in new. |

Rubber chunk.Looks like a very short piece of hose. Do like Doc says and put in Cat extended life coolant.

Thanks. I haven't dealt with that yet. My local independent mechanic told me to drive it to his shop and run it on the dyno, but I've not had a chance to get it up there yet. It's either been way too cold, then it gets foggy when it warms up. Neither being good for a 25 mile tractor drive. Hoping to get it up there next week.
