Hi Guys,
 I need to draw on the awesome knowledge base in here again.
A year on from my first posts, we have done a lot of work on the old girl and she has been going well.
The power steering is leaking continuously from the lower seal so we're going to pull the steering box and replace it.
Does anyone know what size or type of oil seal goes on the steering output shaft? 
I've found a SKF 15005 with this description, is this the right one? Allis Chalmers - D14, D15 (used as a vertical splined steering shaft seal, fits Manual or Power steering; Replaces: 227850, 229726, 229967, 70227850, 70229726, 70229967 .

I'm no direct use to you on a 145.  I did a post here a few years back on bearings etc for the output shaft of a Forty Five but that is the box hidden in the nose.

Some general findings from that.

A local firm has an IBR Bearing Interchange book which helped a lot.  Lets you go from Allis number.  The needle bearings lead straight to Torrington for example.    I had to make a bronze bush which was nla.  But most were off the shelf parts including the bottom seal which was a standard lip seal - so you should be right if you can get a number off the old one.  Even measurements of inner shaft, outer shell and width ought to work.

You'll maybe find that box is a Ross and maybe worth having a look at a Cat 17K (IIRC) with a steering box setup like that as Cat also used Ross.  Not steering but I'm pretty sure that the brakes on a Forty Five are the same as early Cat 12 ones.  Haven't fully explored that as yet.
