I just purchased a WD 45 and don't know what this thing is on the rear hydraulics. Does anyone know what it is, or what its for?

Flow divider screw in or out for lifting disc with a hyd cylinder on it or for using snap coupler lift

What flow is it dividing. Lift arms from the rear? If so, do you mean its a shut-off valve? I only have one-way cylinders. Is it for up/down on a two way?

Yes it basically is a shut off for rear remote it also has a plug in for electric to rear if the disc has lights

nice purchase,  but i did notice that the boot on the gear shifter is shot ( one of my pieves) that ruins amany of tranneys from rain water new boots are pretty cheap

thanks, and the hydraulics are stuck in the up position. Be working on that also.

It controls the amount of oil going back into the reservoir so that it can let the implement down slowly or quickly.
Yep, sparky is right, it's called the transport valve.  It's a control.  A must for rear mounted implements.

As HudCo says, GET a new boot!!  It's going to save you a LOT of grief and aggravation later.  Water is one of the greatest threats (besides a real dummy) to these old machines.

Also there is something wrong with the release to the Snap Coupler.  It shouldn't be laying down on the rear end.  Somethings not right.

Sparky is correct!  This valve was used when transporting a rear hydraulic implement.  With this valve you could "lock" the oil in the ram in the up position eliminating the need to use the hydraulic pump to keep the implement in the raised position during transport drives.

Transport valve. Not a flow divider. It is like the Deland lift on your pump. It is used for a plow with a tail wheel. When you raise your plow at end of field, it lets lift arms raise front of plow out of ground before rear ram starts raising rear of plow. Same when you lower plow, front of plow lowers then rear cylinder lowers.
Other than that they need taken off, because they leak in side causing leak down and acting like low pressure on pump.    MACK

LOL talk about 10 different answers. Mack got it right. it has a valve inside that releases at about 600-700 PSI. It's used for traction boost on a disk or semi mount plow. It makes it so the lift arms get oil and lift first. This adds the traction boost weight of the implement  for traction. after the valve releases, it send oil to the remote cylinder and lifts the disk or rear wheel on your semi mount plow. Screw it out counter clockwise to use it and screw it in to disable. Usually you don't need it.
 
It doesn't work as a lock. The old traction boost wheel disks had a lock on them that you flipped down to lock up the disk for transport. Then were lifting up on the disk the whole time you're driving. It's a concept you have to see to understand because the Allis wheel disk traction boost setup is a one of a kind setup.

I have two traction transport disc. I have never been able utilize the traction option before since I only have a WD to use it with. Going to be interesting to finally see how they work.

Nice old disc, but you will not be able to use the traction booster with it configured as it is.  You will need a snap coupler eye in place of the pin type hitch, and the heavy flat spring that fastens where the three holes are in the hitch, and you will need the bar and chains that attach to the lift arms to provide weight transfer.  My recommendation is to leave it as is, because when using the traction booster feature it is very hard to make a turn with the disc in the raised position.
Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

cool, you're all set. I have all the parts like Ted says to switch mine to the traction boost hitch, but I haven't put them on yet. It's on my list of things to try.
They are tight to turn like Ted says, and I have a set of duals and don't really need the traction boost with just a 10' disk.

Remember, I said I have two of these. Spent some time looking for a pic of the other one that has the lift-arm connection but couldn't find it.

with a semi mount plow when setting the traction booster it allows you to lift the front of the plow first or with out the valve the hydraulic pressure goes to the remote cylinder first

If you notice in the WD45 tractor advertising literature, they have the rear wheels set out quite wide so you can make turns at the end of the field. Duals wouldn't work with that chain lift hitch.

My disk Manual says to move the wheels all the way out. I only had it hooked to the snap coupler once and I can see why. The hardest thing was trying to back up with the disk. It beacked horrible having the pivot point directly under the axle.

I think those hitches are cool. I want to get mine on and take to the local show. They're something unique.
When driving down the road, you flip down the lock on the disk to lock the wheels up, or else you'd be pulling up on the tongue the whole time.

Cool setup. I'm glad you got everything now to try it out.
