We live in town. Yeah, I know, why not on the farm? Anyway, we've been doing some work on the house & I wanted to get rid of a whole bunch of knarly old shrubs that are about as old as I am. So I brought the 5050 to town on a trailer & pulled out 4 shrubs. The next row of shrubs refused to come out. I dug some nice ruts in the yard. Yeah, I'm in trouble. Today the 7060 came to town to finish the job. Got the rest of the shrubs out but one of them took several tugs. Amazing how a shrub can stop an 18,000 pound tractor that's on pavement! Chainsaw's up next.

My brothers did that a while back for our mother at her home. 7045 eliminated several OLD log chains in the process. Yup, shrubs can be tough.

I saw a u-tube video, not too long ago, where a guy was using an engine hoist/crane to remove shrubs.

"eliminated several OLD log chains...." Well, I'm glad everyone is still alive to talk about it. That's a dangerous way to discover the weakest link.

I recently pulled out some shrubs and learned a new trick from an 87 year friend that worked very well. Get a old metal tire wheel. Wrap chain around the base of the shrub, place the rim in the vertical position facing the rear of the tractor. Run chain over the rim. When you pull on the chain the rim pulls the shrub up instead of sideways. Worked great on Holly bushes, they came right out with very little slippage of the 190 XT tires.
